How Are Points Calculated in FPL?
FPL points are awarded based on how selected players perform in real Premier League matches. Outfield players earn 6 points for a goal and 3 for an assist; goalkeepers and defenders earn 6 points for a clean sheet. Minutes played matter too — 1 point for 1–59 minutes, 2 points for 60 or more.
Bonus points (1–3 per match) are awarded to the top three performers in each fixture based on the BPS algorithm, which tracks key passes, tackles, saves, and other in-game actions.
Deductions apply for yellow cards (−1), red cards (−3), and goals conceded (−1 per 2 goals for goalkeepers and defenders). Captaining a player doubles all their points for the gameweek.
